Dimbwiii Safaris was established by a group of enthusiastic people with a long and illustrious history in the East African safari sector. Morani Poyoni's Cultural Tourism Program (CTP) in 1994 marked the beginning of our legacy. motivated by a desire to have a significant effect and a dedication to the area. A new generation of adventurers and conservationists are inspired by Dimbwiii's unwavering spirit and dedication to conservation. Today, we are one of Tanzania's top safari operators, always prepared to give you the experience of East Africa.

Bobu Morani
FOUNDER
My Journey​: Born and raised in the highlands of Monduli Juu, my life has been an apprenticeship with nature. I began my journey as a cultural Maasai guide at just fourteen years old. Over the last decade, I have transitioned from local cultural tourism under the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) to guiding world-class safari operators like Gundua Adventure.

My upbringing in Arusha's Maasai land didn't just teach me about the land; it fostered a deep-seated enthusiasm for conservation and a lifelong bond with Tanzania’s wildlife.

The "Dimbwiii" Philosophy
​
The name of my brand comes from the Swahili word Dimbwi, meaning a pool or a pond. In the wild, a pond is more than just water—it is a lifeline. During the harsh dry seasons, these permanent "refugia" become the heartbeat of the ecosystem, sustaining species when all other sources vanish.

Dimbwiii represents two powerful ideas:
1. The Lifeline: Like a pond in a desert, we aim to be a vital source of life and support for the natural
world and our guests.

2. The Ripple Effect: The extra "iii" in our name mimics the sound—dimbwiii—of a single drop hitting
deep water. It reminds us that a single "plink" or a small change can create ripples that transform the
entire world.

Mukami Njoroge, known as Kamipicha, is a native Kenyan with a deep-seated passion for the natural environment, particularly the flora and fauna of Northern Tanzania and Kenya's parks. Her experiences have fostered an aspiration to further enhance her understanding and relationship with the beauties of the Rift Valley.

TOUR COORDINATOR
In 1994, Morani Poyoni established a company initially known as the Monduli Juu cultural tourism program (MCTP), aimed at connecting guests with authentic cultural experiences in Monduli Juu. The name 'Morani' translates to 'warrior'. The company's vision focuses on creating unique and inspiring experiences that include low-impact activities such as hiking, trekking, and bird watching.

TOUR CONSULTANT
Maria's profound connection to the outdoors and her adventurous spirit originated from an extraordinary experience in Africa, where she observed a magnificent leopard in a tree under the warm light of sunset. This encounter deepened her appreciation for Africa’s rich wilderness and its diverse ecosystems as well as the local population. To further her passion, Maria co-founded Leo Safari, a company focused on providing photo safaris in Tanzania. Partnering with Dimbwiii Safaris, Leo Safari creates distinctive experiences that not only showcase Africa’s wildlife but also foster an immersive engagement with local cultures.
