Our Fleet: Your Window to the Wild

The quality of your safari vehicle is the difference between a simple drive and an immersive expedition. Our custom-engineered fleet is designed to prioritize your comfort, safety, and—most importantly—your view.

The Standard for Exploration

Every one of our vehicles is a mobile basecamp, meticulously equipped with:

  • Individual Viewing Hatches: Forget crowding for a glimpse. Every row of two seats features its own private hatch, providing unobstructed 360° views and the personal space you need for that perfect shot.

  • The Photographer’s Edge: We provide on-board bean bags to steady long lenses, ensuring crisp, professional-grade wildlife photography.

  • Climate & Comfort: Stay cool with full air conditioning during dusty or high-speed transits. For stationary viewing, our shade awnings provide relief from the sun while allowing ample headroom to stand or sit on the roof.

  • Refuel & Refresh: Enjoy an Engle fridge stocked with chilled drinks and snacks, alongside refillable water bottles and thermos-fresh coffee and tea to keep you energized.

  • Total Connectivity: Stay powered up with multiple US-style outlets at every seat. For safety, we maintain constant contact via VHF and long-range HF radios linked directly to our Arusha base.

  • Knowledge on Hand: Dive deeper into the ecosystem with our on-board library, featuring Tanzanian field guides and detailed park maps.

annual migration safaris.

The Great Wildebeest Migration is a year-round, 3,000 km clockwise journey of over 2 million wildebeest.

The Tarangire "Open-Air" Experience

For a truly visceral connection to the African bush, guests at our Tarangire Camp transition into our Open-Sided Land Cruisers.

Stripped of walls and roofs, these rugged vehicles remove every barrier between you and the wild. Feel the breeze, catch the scent of the earth, and hear the distant call of a lion with nothing in the way.

  • Theater-Style Seating: Tiered rows ensure every guest has a "front-row" view of the action.

  • Sun Protection: An overhead canopy keeps you shaded without compromising the open-air feel.

  • Immersive Discovery: This is the ultimate way to experience Tarangire’s iconic baobabs and elephant herds.

Note: Open vehicles are weather-dependent and used for local game drives. Please let us know in advance if you would like to prioritize an open-air vehicle for your Tarangire adventure.

Built for Peace of Mind

Your safety is our silent priority. Every vehicle is outfitted with a comprehensive first-aid kit, fire extinguishers, and a full suite of tools and spare parts to ensure the journey never stops.

Packing for the Wild: Your Safari Essentials

Preparing for Tanzania is all about layers and light fabrics. Whether you are cruising the dusty plains or sitting in an open-sided Land Cruiser at dawn, here is how to pack like a pro.

-The "Safari Palette" (Clothing)

In the bush, color matters. Aim for neutral tones like khaki, olive, tan, and grey.

  • Avoid: Bright whites (they get dusty fast), dark blues/blacks (which attract tsetse flies), and camouflage patterns (reserved for local military).

  • Lightweight Layers: Mornings are surprisingly chilly, while afternoons can be scorching. Pack zip-off trousers, breathable long-sleeve shirts, and a light fleece or windbreaker.

  • The "Dust Defense": A lightweight buff or scarf is essential for open-vehicle drives in Tarangire to protect your face from dust and wind.

-Sun & Element Protection

The African sun is intense, especially when you’re standing through a viewing hatch.

  • Wide-Brimmed Hat: Ensure it has a chin strap so it doesn't fly off while the vehicle is moving!

  • Polarized Sunglasses: To cut through the glare of the savannah and spot wildlife more easily.

  • High-SPF Sunscreen & Lip Balm: Reapply often, even on overcast days.

-Gear for the "Great Shot"

Since our vehicles are already equipped with bean bags and charging points, you just need the basics:

  • Binoculars: We recommend an 8x42 magnification for the best balance of stability and light.

  • Camera Gear: A telephoto lens (200mm–400mm) is ideal for those distant leopard sightings.

  • Spare Memory Cards: You will take more photos than you think!

-Personal Essentials

  • Insect Repellent: Look for brands containing DEET or Picaridin for evening use.

  • Closed-Toe Shoes: Sturdy sneakers or light hiking boots are better than sandals for keeping dust and thorns at bay.

  • Small Daypack: To keep your personal items, field guides, and thermos bottles within arm's reach in the vehicle.

Pro-Tip: Soft Luggage Only

Because of the specialized storage space in our 4x4 Land Cruisers and smaller bush planes, we kindly ask that you use soft-sided duffel bags rather than hard-shell suitcases. This helps us pack the vehicle efficiently and ensures your gear travels safely.
