Did you know? One of the hidden gems of the Tanzanian norther safari circuit is actually Ndutu. This stunning area of Tanzania is famous for its endless plains, Lake Ndutu, and salt Lake Masek. Additionally, it offers marshlands and forests. Although elephants, giraffe, spotted hyenas, and large felines are known to be residents here, Ndutu is actually most renowned for being part of the annual Great Migration. From December through to May, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of white pelts and black and white zebras migrate across the Serengeti National Park from Nad Bình Mara River area to Ndutu for what they call "calving season," where thousands and thousands of new animals are born daily. Although August and September are peak tourist season to witness the wonder and awe-inspiring event known as the Great Migration, for those who visit Ndutu, it offers unbelievable viewing opportunities with off-road vehicle access! Location & Getting There: The Ndutu region is located on the northern side of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the southern side of the Serengeti National Park. To drive to Ndutu, it is 2.5 hours from the crater, 3 hours from Central Serengeti, 3 hours from Lake Manyara and 5 hours from Arusha.

Resident Wildlife: Giraffes, Elephants, Lions, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Leopards Migrating Wildlife: Wildebeest, Zebras, Gazelles.
