Arusha National Park Canoeing

Experience a tranquil and picturesque Arusha National Park canoeing along the shorelines of the small Momella Lake. Momella Lake is a collection of multiple lakes located in the Arusha National Park. It is fed by various underground water streams and rainfall during its season, which attracts the complete life cycle of many animals, such as buffaloes, bushbucks, giraffes, hippos, and many water birds living in and close to the water. It is quiet and beautiful, and a great way to experience this is from a canoe.

During this 2- to 2.5-hour adventure, you can observe buffaloes, bushbucks, giraffes, hippos, and various water birds in their natural habitats.

A unique perspective on Tanzanian wildlife and landscape.

For the country with both the biggest and the deepest lake in Africa, Tanzania visitors have relatively little opportunity for canoeing safaris. The only areas where game viewing can be done from a canoe are Arusha National Park, Lake Duluti, and Lake Manyara National Park (if the water level is sufficient). This is all canoeing on lakes, not rivers; Arusha National Park canoeing trips are no longer than three hours.

Meeting Point: Small Lake Momella, located within Arusha National Park. Equipment: Stable two-person fiberglass canoes.

Please note that visitors must pay a Conservation Park Fee for entry into the park and a canoeing park fee at the North Park Gate. Enjoy Arusha National Park Canoeing
