Arusha -Lalashe Homestay

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Intl. Airport, meet driver after Customs & Immigration. Travel to Monduli Juu Lalashe homestay for the night, then hike to Monduli rainforest. 8-hour trek: 18 km to Monduli mountains' eastern peak with stunning Rift Valley views. For a milder option, a 3-hour (9 km) trek is available. Stay overnight at Emairete campsite. Relax at Lalashe Homestay with scenic views of Monduli Juu.

Emairete Campsite

Day 2: After breakfast at Lalashe Homestay, we take a short walk across a massive Mairete caldera that is equally magnificent as Ngorongoro despite being smaller. A location on the plains where ranchers have been grazing their cattle for decades. There are many Bomas that mark the surroundings. We pay a visit to a midwife and herbalist in one of the huts. You'll discover what a Maasai village is like on a daily basis at Emairete Crater. Following this deeply spiritual gathering. A village walk to learn about unique flora and how the Maasai use them will be another highlight. Then you overnight at Emairete campsite, which has shaded sites & running water.
