Our Monduli Juu Maasai Airbnb is situated on a road that leads to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park, about 50 km northwest of Arusha, Tanzania, making it a natural stop on a northern Tanzanian safari or cultural tour. This beautiful, highland area is famous for its real Maasai culture, traditional villages, and chances to learn about Maasai ways of life and traditions.
Lalashe Homestay
Located in the rolling green hills 9 km/5.6 miles above the town of Monduli and 45 minutes from the tour area, enjoy your very own house, equipped with a shower, electricity, and running water. Meals are prepared by local families. They make traditional African meals but can serve Western food as well, if needed or preferred. Lalashe also has a small workshop where Maasai women make jewelry.


Lalashe Campsite
Located in Lalashe, where the tours take place, this experience is more authentic, as you will be camping within the Maasai enclosure. This is the ideal way to learn more about traditional Maasai activities & daily life. Sites are shaded & running water is available.
Esserian Campsite
Set in a small woodland area, it is very peaceful, with great views of the Rift Valley from the lookout point. It has two Maasai bomas nearby, shaded sites, and running water. A variety of birds, including speckle-fronted weavers, rufous sparrows, African grey flycatchers, and olive thrushes, are a common sight around the campsite.


Taresero Campsites
Take pleasure in the sunrise. Perched at the top of Mt. Taresero, this location offers one of the most breathtaking views of the Rift Valley and the Engaruka plains, shaded sites & running water.
Nalo Campsite
It is quite serene and situated in a tiny acacia forest area. From the vantage point, you may enjoy stunning views of the Rift Valley. It features running water, shaded spots, and two Maasai bomas close by. The campsite is frequently visited by a variety of birds, such as African grey flycatchers, rufous sparrows, speckle-fronted weavers, and olive thrushes.


Emairete Campsite
Discover the enormous Mairete caldera, which is not as big as Ngorongoro but remains magnificent, by driving from Monduli town to Emairete Crater to Magadi view point. For ages, cattlemen have been grazing their livestock on the grasslands.
